Soul is located in downtown Eugene, Or connected to Kesey Square. Soul is a local cultural center that promotes mental health awareness by eliminating social media platforms depicting the atmosphere in the space to become someone's individual experience. Soul is focused on their main exhibition on the ground floor creating a narrative throughout the process of the exhibition. When you enter into the exhibition you are faced by the hardship that individual are suffering from mental illness. The first exhibition is created with darkened hues allowing the space to become depressing, host local contemporary art that expresses sadness. Exhibition 2-4 are created to become the transition between a dark area in your life to a cheerful, uplifting mind state. These three exhibitions are designed through saturation, creating a bright color gradient that transitions you into exhibition 5. Exhibition 5 is designed with a spacious plan having a double height ceiling as well as a light color palette that could be a metaphor for heaven. Allowing you to look up to the mezzanine where you see a local botanical green house. After traveling through the exhibition you are shot down to the basement where you are accommodated with a tea shop and lounge seating. Downstairs, hosts seating pods that you can go into that allow for the opportunity to rest, clear your mind from the exhibition as well as recoup your emotions. Overall, soul is a cultural center that allows for the promotional acceptance in mental health to allow for understanding and treatment to visitors.
